Thanks Pavan fow writing.

Sublime writing and expressing the guilt of his childhood action of the protagonist wonderfully narrated. I don't think this story anyway close to the indie masala films. Which masala movie shows child abuse as described in the film? I don't think any director had dare to put the kind of scene so far.

Anyways, opinion differ.

Pls chk other blog posts also. I hope you would like it. Many Thanks.

sai,

Since i am just a fan of ur posts i am replying agin to your reply expectiing an other reply.

I truly feel at any point it is n't moving narration except at points where the writer tries to narrate the poor and pathetic conditions existing in afghanistan and the culture(killing a woman). All these happend to the end of the book where i totally lost the interest on book. In any case these things will not make much difference because i have seen these kind of masala indian films where villain will be result of hero's father ill activities.

I donot know in which sense you would admire a filmmaker who takes this a film on this book.

I am just under an assumption that you donot watch regional/hindi films much because of which you havent seen these illegal sex connections stories/masala films.

But i have seen plenty of them. Only intresting aspect which differs from our masala film here is the servant maid's son dies. In our masala films to the end the hero and this waste fellow will be friends. thats the only difference i felt on the whole.

hehe... anyways thanks sai for responding. Anyways i love your blog. havent gone through much of the posts. but i will reply to all of them....

Pavan,

Oops, I guess you got it wrong! If you dislike the book, it is fine. But, the moving narration, truly does not deserve what you have expressed. Come on, this is no way related to any kind of Indian masala movie. I would admire our Indian film maker, if it so. Anyways, opinions differ!

Atlast, found ur new site. The layout looks simple and really nice!

Kite Runner - can't agree more with you. too good a book to be just praised.
the movie was a sort of let down, though. but then how many successful books hv been made into successful movies?
