The general feeling is that the present government is trying to run the country like a business corporation. The other palpable thing, the leaders are at least looking genuine to bring reforms, make policies, improve economy with some 100 days targets (call it Obama style!). Another overwhelming fact is, the people clearly showed in this election is, they no more looking for the old politicos. They are looking for real actions. They are looking for the people who mean business. Now, it looks like, we got one.

Well, everything looks fine. Until when, the leader of the rising sun, Mr. Karunanidhi, wants to satisfy his family members. The UPA is no more dependent on DMK, yet it tried to make peace with the latter. DMK supremo not only wants to satisfy his sons and daughters by reserving preferred cabinet berths, but also want to satisfy his other party members like Mr. A. Raja.

Some say, it is due to large community/dalit vote bank of Mr. A.Raja, DMK wants to satisfy him. Many of the opinion, that he may not do the justice to IT & Telecom minister job. We saw what happened in the last UPA government. Mr. Dayanidhi Maran was holding the post in the initial years of the government. He brought many radical changes and investments in to the country’s IT & Telecom infrastructure & policies. Thanks to DMK politics, Mr. A. Raja succeeded him. And for the rest of latter’s tenure, he undid many good things & allegedly involved in spectrum scandal. Personally, I don’t feel he can do any amount of justice to his post.

I lost all respect for DMK. Family & vote bank politics played over country’s welfare. DMK men were so involved in their haggling for power, they almost forgot to give any meaningful comments on the death of LTTE leader. I can forsee no potential leader after Mr. Karunanidhi. This selfish act already started entering in the minds of people in Tamil Nadu. DMK sown the potential seeds for its own failure in next election. Now, what we need is good national debate & opinions from the press, people and from the political experts on this DMK drama. Then only, DMK will realise that it can’t play on its own tunes anymore and also, it will understand that times have changed.
